Frequently Asked Questions

How do I sign up?

The sign-ups for summer 2026 will open March 1st 2026. Please go to the services offered page. A microsoft form will be available for each clinic and will include additional instructions, depending on the clinic you are applying for.

How much experience do I need?

For our grade 5-6 clinic and our grade 7-10 clinic, no experience is required.

For our grade 11-12 clinic, you should be looking to play volleyball in high school or already been playing regularly on a high school team.

For our 2s clinic, you should be playing at the club volleyball level (or have an appropriate reference who can vouch for the athlete's abilities).

For our general skills training, you should be playing at the club volleyball level (or have an appropriate reference who can vouch for the athlete's abilities).

Are there age restrictions for the clinics?

Our clinics are open to players entering grade 5 to students entering their first year of post-secondary.

What should I wear to a clinic?

We recommend wearing comfortable athletic clothing, and be prepared to get dirty! You should definitely bring sunscreen and lots of water. You can choose to wear sunglasses and a hat, but they are not required.

Do we play if it is raining?

Yes, of course! We only stop for thunderstorms. We will put out a post on social media two hours before the start of the clinic.

Giving Back to Our Community!

Every year, the Port donates a large percentage of proceeds to the Westport Lions Club.  The Westport Lions Club was integral in building the beach volleyball culture in Westport. They built the first court in 2013, followed by a second court in 2015.  The Lions  continue to run beach volleyball tournaments every summer with great success.  They maintain the beach and associated buildings which is the only reason this beach clinic is able to continue! Thanks, Westport Lions! We appreciate you! For more information about the Westport Lions Club, please go to their website at https://westportlions.ca/ .
