The Port Volleyball Clinic Leadership Award

This award will be given to a student at Rideau District High School who has participated in The Port Volleyball Clinic and is playing volleyball at the post-secondary level and/or has been a  consistent positive influence on the volleyball culture at RDHS through playing and/volunteering.

Our History

Chris and Lauren Hartley met playing volleyball at Trent University. Chris has coached at the high school level for 20+ years. The Hartleys loved teaching volleyball to their own kids and hoped to encourage other players to improve in order to see more success at the high school level in Eastern Ontario.  Each year, the clinic continues to grow in size and scope. In the first year of the clinic, there was one clinic with 20 athletes.  Last year, there were four clinics that served 90 athletes over 4 months, consisting of over 50 hours of training. The clinic's growth shows that there is clearly  a need for more affordable volleyball training in Eastern Ontario, and the Hartleys are committed to continue to grow this sport in tiny Westport, Ontario.
